This microphone uses the identical element as the "V4" but is an "over the head" headset microphone. It shares the exquisite accuracy and noise canceling qualities of the V4 and is a clear rival for the Sennheiser ME3, although significantly lighter, potentially more comfortable than the ME3, and with the added advantage of having a speaker.
Other than the different means of attachment to your head, this microphone uses the same element and is similar to the V4 in accuracy and noise cancelling abilities. Likewise, it is equipped in a manner similar to the "V4", including the 2.5 mm plug for attaching to most cell phones and a PC adapter for use with computer sound cards and USB sound adapters. The total length of the cord on this microphone when using the connectors as advised below (see the diagram with the description of the PC adapter) is about 72 inches.
This is a superb microphone and priced notably less than its only rival - the Sennheiser ME3.
We recommend using this microphone with the Andrea Pure Audio, the Buddy 7G or the VXI 2-way USB sound adapter.

Comments: We consider this microphone to be of extremely high quality in terms of performance with speech recognition and equal to the accuracy and noise cancellation of the Sennheiser ME3. Advantages over the ME3 include the presence of a speaker and comfort. Disadvantages include a shorter warranty (only 1 year versus two years for the ME3) and a slight fragility. We recommend you use caution in straightening out the plastic headband as it might snap if pushed too far.

theBoom V4 Noise Canceling Microphone
 This microphone was designed for use on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange where noise cancellation is critical. The V4 is clearly on par with the Sennheiser ME3 in terms of accuracy and noise cancellation, but is considerably lighter and arguably more comfortable. Unlike the Sennheiser, this microphone can be used directly with a computer sound card and does not require the use of an external sound adapter (although this might still be a good idea if your on-board sound device is picking up interference or if you are using a notebook computer).
It is shipped with a generic 2.5 mm female jack since it is designed for use with a variety of cell phones. It includes a standard 2.5 mm jack for use with many cell phones. We bundle this microphone with the needed cable to use this with a PC (it converts the 2.5 mm jack to the standard 3.5 mm audio and 3.5 mm microphone jacks). The total length of the cord on this microphone when used with the PC adapter we supply is about 80 inches.

theBoom "C"
 This high quality microphone uses the same microphone element as the other UmeVoice "theBoom" mics and provides excellent accuracy and external noise reduction. It is identical to the UmeVoice theboom "O" microphone except that it is binaural (in ordinary language it has a speaker for each ear and provides stereo sound!).
This microphone, like the others by UmeVoice, is made for potential use with a cell phone and is packaged with a 2.5 mm plug which is needed for a cell phone, but which is not compatible with a PC or external sound card. We include (add to the box) a "cell phone to PC" adapter which provides you everything you'll need in order to use this with your PC. Like other microphones, unless you know that you have a high quality sound card, we recommend using this microphone with an external sound adapter such as the VXI 2-Way or Andrea USB sound adapter.
We consider this microphone solid competition for what is otherwise our favorite - the Sennheiser ME3. The advantage of this microphone over the ME3 is the presence of speakers and lower cost.
USB Adapter Compatability: This microphone is compatible with all three of our duplex USB adapters: the Andrea Pure Audio, the VXI 2-way, and Buddy 6G.

Comments: this new member of the UmeVoice theBoom collection appears to share the same high accuracy and noise cancelling qualities of the other theBoom mics. Unlike the other mics in this series, the "C" is compatable with both Buddy USB adapters. The headband portion of this microphone is slightly narrow and users with large heads might find it slightly uncomfortable. Please note that all of the UmeVoice/theBoom microphones are a bit on the delicate side and should be handled carefully. Be aware that although this microphone has two speakers, the sound in monaural and not stereo.

2.5 mm Cellphone to PC Adapter for UmeVoice Microphone
 This hard to find adapter is designed to convert the 2.5 mm plug on a cellphone microphone to standard 3.5 mm audio plugs used with a PC. We carry this primarily for use with the UmeVoice "theBoom" microphones.
Please note that all wired UmeVoice micropnones we sell on this site are already bundled with this adapter so it is not necessary to purchase this if you buy a theBoom microphone from us. We sell this seprately only for those who have purchased the microphone elsewhere and need the adapter.

Set-up Instructions for Wired "theBoom" Microphones
In case you've become confused about the connection of any of the wired UmeVoice theBoom mics to your personal computer or sound card, please refer to the diagram below. The "Cellphone connector" with male plugs on both ends must be oriented such that the end with 4 terminals is pointing toward the microphone and the end with 3 terminals is pointing to your personal computer. Please refer to the diagram below for a visual:
